Yesterday afternoon, a few colleagues on field and I, met on the Colegio de Ingenierios Electricistas, Mecanicos e industriales (CIEMI) with the purpose to review the decree of Technovigilance in Costa Rica (No.39342-S) which is fairly new from 2015.
Giving a presentation and highlighting the obligations and procedures involving us and also some experiences where Sanitary Registrations Regulation and Technovigilance merge was from my side but the most interesting part of the talk was sharing the experiences of the rest of colleagues and comments related, how the new decree is a great opportunity for the healthcare system not only on the daily action in the hospitals or clinics, manufacturers or users, but technovigilance is important from the offices of the Government where big biddings are prepared and decided.
Technovigilance regulation can also interfere to control costs of devices on the market in this small territory and of course bring quality which is one of the goals worldwide.
After we all agreed the importance of this decree because of the obligations and responsibilities, it is important to highlight here that the decree is looking for health improvement ¨hand by hand¨
on the big and wonder world of Medical Devices!
Keep in touch for a new post,
Best,
Rocio.
